On 7th of September 2016, we have a field trip to BEX Asia which is held at Marina Bay Sand Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore. Before we enter the events, we need to go the service counter to ask the staff member to help us print out our name tag for entering permission. After that, we can enter into the events hall. The first thing I do it to go get an event guide from the information counter. The events have over 450 exhibiting companies, 12000 visitors, 40 plus seminars and unlimited opportunities to future-proof the green building industry from around the world, for instance, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Italy, and more.
When I first enter, it is quite confusing because I do not know where to start. But after a while, I get used to it. Then I walked around together with my friends in the events hall to get brochure and name card, but some of the staff member from the pavilion will stop it and did some explanation for us about their products.
One of the most interesting ones is the 3M safety and security window film because during that time we are having a restaurant design project. To provide natural lighting, some privacy and safety to the interior space my friend Melissa ask them about the products can it be applied to a commercial space, then the guys introduce some of the products to my friend. 3M is a safety and security window films that strengthen the windows with tested and proven toughness for protection against spontaneous glass breakage, break-ins, and accidental human impact. This brand is a world leader in adhesive technologies. The adhesives they're use with films provide a unique combination of fast dying, optical clarity, durability and simple removal.
Furthermore, there is one more that caught my attention is the Lapitec prestigious Italian surface. There is one guy demonstrating their products to prove it is scratchproof, resistant to heat and hygiene. This brand is a “full body” sintered stone entirely developed and produce in Italy. It combines great aesthetic appeal with advanced physical and mechanical properties. It is the ideal solution for architecture and design. It's Italian heritage portrays powerful contemporary design as well as a more classic appeal, overcoming structural and stylistic constraints and meeting the aesthetic sensitivity of designers.
After about 2 hours, our lecture gathers us then dismiss us. I really enjoy the trip to BEX Asia because I get to know the material and technology that available as well as it is eco-friendly to the earth. I also get to know the supplier's tat available in Singapore, the opportunity to have a small conversation with the professional and gain more experience for my future career. BEX Asia has held annually in Singapore, in 2017 will be on 12-14 September. I think it will be interesting for 2017 because it is BEX Asia 10 years old.
